For people who think the Ford GT looks a bit dated?
They should be shot, unless there's some other reason they needed to 'improve' on it?

Nothing will look better than the 2005/2006 Ford GT's.

...save for the original, or perhaps a Superformance model.

I agree.
This looks like an early concept mash-up of the current Jaguar XK and the Ford GT90. Not a $1mil bespoke super car...

Just so beautiful. Who/what is Galpin?

it looks like they took some of those stylized design drawings you see, and actually made the car like that.

IMO looks like doodoo .... soft forms with a edgy face, and well just dated. The car its based off of looks better. Here is your million dollar kit car ford gt because insanely rich people exist.

That's what I thought. Road & Track had a designer contest, and this resembles most of them.

Thanks $kay. Just being lazy I guess.

When it pulled up at pebble beach, I thought it looked cool. Did you know it had a BLUE interior? Blue seats, carpet, roof, door panels, steering wheel, everything was blue! Surprisingly, I thought it worked with the car pretty well.

I read that it did have a blue interior. I think its looks will grow on me.

I know that feeling! ;D
Here's a Galpin Mustang GT........ http://www.mustang50magazine.com/featuredvehicl…

The 2005/2006 GT's look a lot better than this. This just looks like an enlarged Hotwheels car. Even the headlights look like they were painted on.

A friend of mine said of the Galpin GTR1 that it looked like what the Ford GT would look like today, face lifted and in production. I don't entirely disagree but think, personally, that a 'face lifted' GT would just get the new corporate brand stapled to it's face.

I'd rather buy a small fleet of GTs and race them on Laguna with my friends than own one of these. It's neither achingly beautiful nor offensively ugly. No matter what the angle, it just doesn't work.
What we have here is a $1M piece of living proof why Ford was unwilling to fuck with the original design of the GT too much when they decided it was time for another go. When that time comes again, I am hoping that wisdom will be walking with them down the path of the new design.

A couple of years ago, Road and Track mag had a voting contest between three Ford GT designs. I voted for Camilo Pardo, chief designer of 2005/06 Ford GT. He came in second. This Galpin GT reminds me of these three. http://www.roadandtrack.com/special-report…

I agree with you. See how Galpin's design looks similar to the three in this Road and Track contest from several years ago? I voted for Camilo Pardo, Ford's chief designer of the Ford GT. http://www.roadandtrack.com/special-report…

Hey, $kay... you know there are other cars in the world which aren't Ford GT's... right?
Hah!

;D Yeah, I know, and I do like many other cars, but when I first saw the Ford GT in the 2004 Superbowl commercial, I almost fell off my chair. Then when my local Ford Store got one in and gave me a ride in it, I never got over it.
